A job well done

Alex and Kat with
daughter and godchild!
Yesterday at Holy Trinity we said farewell to Alex, Kat, Ben and Hannah Shuttleworth. Alex has served his curacy at HT for the past 3 years, and now the family are heading to Pittsburgh, where Alex will be Rector of Christchurch, Fox Chapel.

Across 4 services and one farewell tea yesterday they said their farewells and shared their mixed feelings about leaving a church where their ministry, under God, has made a deep impression.

As a family they have got stuck into Holy Trinity and Timperley Family Church, and there was a great turn out from both churches to the farewell tea.

A warm pastoral heart, a love for Jesus, a desire to see people come to faith and grow in Christ, a passion for preaching and a sincere desire to do all things well and to God's glory have been the hallmarks of Alex's ministry.

Alex will also be remembered for his particular brand of humour. Without going into detail, this was commemorated by the naming, yesterday, of one room at HT as 'The Shuttleworth Room'...

Alex, Kat, Ben and Hannah: THANK YOU for the past 3 years at Holy Trinity, and be assured of our prayers for you as you begin ministry in Pittsburgh.

Matthew 28:
Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’
